Instructions: How to Take Measurements with the Perfect Body Waist Tape Whether you're taking measurements for custom-fitted clothing or tracking inches lost as part of a diet and exercise program, the Perfect Body Waist Tape makes it easy. Here's how it works: Wear a slim, fitted garment, pull the retractable tape measure out of the case, and wrap it around your waist or any other body part. (Note: The graduations on the outside of the waistband do not start from zero. This is because the measurement includes the curved portion of the top of the holster that fits the body part. The internal graduations are for taking body length measurements.) Next, insert the plastic peg attached to the end of the band into the slot on the holster. Once the peg is in place, press the button on top of the holster to automatically and snugly fasten the band around your waist or body part. Because the spring tension is always the same, your measurements will always be accurate. Finally, record your measurement, which is indicated by the number shown where the band exits the case.
